"RESOLUTION" No. 1 for Piano and Trumpet, from Fractals by Maria Fuller
This video was entirely produced by Maria, including capturing all photos and videos, as well as the musical audio and video recordings (excluding the orchestra video, and headshot photos). "RESOLUTION" No. 1, from Fractals was written by Maria Fuller, and is a 'musical fractal' on the feeling of being resolute/having resolution. The musical fractal is the notes and their intervals: A-B-E. Her idea to write music as part of a series of fractals (instead of etudes, or studies, for example), stemmed from wanting to write a series of music that is highly motivic, and which can motivate certain feelings through that motive. In this video, Maria is first seen playing the piano and the trumpet, which is the original instrumentation of the work (piano and trumpet). Later on in the video, the frame changes to a performance of her conducting the work, for string ensemble piano, and solo trumpet. Here, she conducts, as the 2019 David Effron Conducting Fellow, the Chautauqua Institute's Summer Music Festival Orchestra, from the piano. The trumpeter in that part of the video is Aaron Dubois. The farmland video are of her farm, in Saskatchewan. The lake video was taken North of La Ronge, in Saskatchewan.

Auld Lange Syne - Improvised by Maria Fuller
Improvised on January 1st 2022; the first day of the first year that my precious father is not with me. I thank God that my Dad, Gordon Fuller, is somewhere better now. (Pictures/video on third verse). My Dad loved my piano playing, and the hours that I would sit and improvise familiar tunes for him. He admired so fiercely my ability to embellish his old favourite hymns, while also warning me not to stray too far away from the original tune and disappear into a sound world where no one else could follow. He was so smart about that. I thought that playing would be the hardest thing to do when he left us. Today, I play for him once again. "Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?" Another year is upon us - another year in which to make more memories, meet more people, learn to love more fully, to experience more challenges and change, and to never, never forget who and what brought us to where we are. After Dad's passing last month, I have realized that we are the legacies of our loved ones who are gone. We are the result of someones hard work and sacrifice, and the object that lives on of their love and devotion. Just as the snowmobile rides on, alone, at the end of the video, so do they, through us. With this in mind, I strive to continue to do my father proud, and to remember him well, until I meet him on the other side.
